Biography


Gili Benita is a photographer, born and raised in Jerusalem, Israel, and currently based in New York City. His works focus on intimate-based visual storytelling and portraiture. He is a frequent contributor to The New York Times and works with clients such as HBO, I-D, Haaretz, and his work was featured in Vogue Italia, Elephant Magazine, iGNANT, and more. In 2020, he graduated from the International Center of Photography's Documentary Practice and Visual Journalism Program, where he was awarded the Lisette Model Scholarship and the Director's Fellowship, attended The Eddie Adams Workshop and joined Diversify Photo as a full member. His Works were awarded by CPOY, shortlisted for Palm Prize 2021, and were exhibited at the Erets Israel Museum in Tel Aviv and the Lagos Photo Festival. Gili Has also worked as an editor for Aint Bad Magazine, where he edited the printed ISSUE 15. In 2023, Gili was chosen as a Finalist for The Alexia Grant with his ongoing project " By the time you grow up, you won't have to serve anymore". 

Gili is also a full member of Diversify Photo  and Thursday's Child.
